Whilst hooning along at the Marham trackday, one of my roof panels blew out when I got to around 130mph, going into a 15-20mph head wind.
After I taped all the joints etc, it remained in place at noticable greater speeds (Cossie BOA power), but this is not very practical for the road, or more relevantly, future trackdays.
As far as I can tell, all the lugs/sockets are ok. I have done plenty trackdays before without any problems, although the Marham straight is one of the few places you can reach the higher speeds without loosing your licence.

Does anyone have any similar experience or solutions?

Did you have the window open (even just a bit)?
If so could have been pressure build up inside.

I know a friends freelander with canvas top had explicit instuctions not to drive at speed with the window open or it could blow out the rear vinyl window.

Do you have the clips between the panel and the windscreen?

Norman,

No I do not have clips...I used to have an S3, but that was about 18 years ago. Do they have clips?
