Dropped the S off last week with a list of things needing doing. Just picked it up, he's done a TOP job. Black Hammerited the entire chassis (to protest all of Ray S' hard work from last year). Fitted upgrade steering bush (money VERY well spent). Fitted the Daewoo door mirrors, and fitted the XJS seats I picked up from ebay. Also found a couple of coolant leaks, so they're now plugged.
And, to cap it all... the sun's out !

cheers
Ed

I hadn't heard from you for a while Ed - I was beginning to get worried that the seats didn't fit!
They are a bit tight aren't they but they go in - just.
What's the colour match like?
I think you've got away with it anyway even if they aren't perfect.

What do you think to them? Interested to know as I haven't driven my car with them in yet.

Who did the work Ed?

Was it the infamous bulkhead steering bush in the column, if so, how much was the labour cost?

Ed,

Are you going to S Club? I'd be interested to see how those seats feel and whether they'll fit with my roll bar. I'm doing a 1200 mile Euro Road Trip for a weekend at the end of June and am thinking that my current ones need some attention!

The mirrors also look good. Which model are they from?

Don't worry, I'm not expecting a quick response cos judging by your comments you're going to be out having a blat!! biggrin

Cheers,
Longers

Little Baby Grace is rather a time soaker!
The were tight.. the passenger one was easy enough, the driver's side took him 3 goes to get right. The colour match is pretty much spot on - I was lucky there. Also, although a bit tired the driver's bolster is all in tact, with is great means I can just re-dye when I've got time. There's great - comfortable & supportive in the right places. Not driven the car for hours yet, but so far my crappy back likes them.

I've found a local mechanic Thorne Motorsport, in Tidmarsh nr Reading. Ahh.. in fact.. think he was recommended on good old PH.
Couldnt tell you the labour for that as I didnt ask for itemised breakdown sorry cant help. It was indeed the bulkhead bush - the new one has really transformed the car can 100% recommend. Was anbout £20 for the part.

Nah, am a Father of 3 months so going out not on the menu at the mo. Mirrors from a Daeweoo Matiz - manual variation (i.e. none of the electric motors & gizmos). Were peanuts.

Hi Ed..

Nice looking car mate.. what front indicators are you using..? It surprises me you haven't swapped the side repeaters for clear as well.. IMHO it would set the car off really well. smile

Also I just love those "wolfrace" style wheels.

Cheers

Want my Toyota ones that were just taken out? They're even MORE comfortable as have adjustable lumbar support - good on a long trip.

The XJS ones have I am told have a lumbar support inside that is an air bladder - I am also told rightly or wrongly that the air pump to pump it up and down is also incorporated in the seat.
I will have to have a play....

I have to say mine are really comfortable without messing about with the lumbar support or anything - my plan is just to fit them and see how I go.
I find that being tall most car lumbar supports do nothing for me anyway.

My seats are also heated but I think there's enough wiring in a TVR as it is!
