s2 wont tickover when hot

when hot 2.9 v6 wont tickover, revs ok even underload but when you come to stop ie at lights it cuts out any ideas

The idle speed control valve is worth taking off and giving a clean.

I had this after taking off the iddle valve, thought a clean up would only benefit the car - ran terrible after cleaning ran far to rich and had to feather the throttle to keep it ticking over.
Took all the connectors involved in the injection system off and cleaned them with carb cleaner. Put them back and the car has run fine since.
Don't know which connector was to blame but it cured it.

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor?
S/b 3000-4500 ohms across terminals when at 80 deg
7100-8000 ohms 60
15000-17000 ohms 40
35000-40000 ohms 20
worth a check if you have an ohm meter
