Think i'm going to need some new seat belts, the fixings look rusty and I dont' think I even have the bits the buckle clips into, plus i cant the tensioners to untension(retract, eg let more belt out)

Any one know of a good source.
I have seen these standard ones with the option for short or long stalks for the buckle clips, short are cheaper.

short

long

Also I'm assuming hte tensioner thingy sits behind the seat about 50 cm below the sholder guide. Does it simply get bolted through the body and onto the chassis using the standard chassis attachment (The plate the lips up at the front end of the rear wheel arch, doesn't look that substantial though)

I had mine changed (many years ago) by Quickfit Safety Belt Service, with the short lock. Much better than the original belts. They can also make up belts in any colour you like.

Is the stork length important, the ones on the link I sent with short stalk, would they be suitable?
The price seems good.

Much better without the stalk. The "short stalk" bolts straight to the chassis and is what TVR should have fitted in the first place.

I assume there's enough room around the seat to accomodate then, thats good as at that price they are a bargain.

 This is how it works all seatb elt mounting points are visible in these three pictures:

One on outrigger - first picture
One on the rear mounting point into the rear wheel arch (third picture in front of tyre)
One in the centre rail (inverted V) above the inner body mounting point (last picture clearest)
All three on last picture

I fitted the Securon SEC 5S ones (£37) from CBS with no problems and the short stalk is a vast improvemnt over the standard long stalk (which brought the lap part of the belt belt above my hips)
They did not do the cheaper ones when I bought mine, but even now I would go for the Securon ones (Well known manufacturer- www.securon.co.uk; SVA compliant) rather than the unknown brand £25 ones.

Normally I'd agree,
But I have managed to find the manufacturer.

It looks like even these cheap belts have designed and tested pretty well and would meet SVA requirements etc if needed.

I'll let you knwo what I think of them, if I get them

Securon list their 500/30 belts for the S series, they have long stalks just like the originals. I used the shorter stalk 500/15 version and they fit much better across the waist.
