Just thought I'd post some pic's of my new wheels which I have just fitted today bounceclap
They are compomotive MO 6 spoke and they are 7x16 in size. I have never really liked the standard wheels and so after much research and deliberating I finally bit the bullet and went for these, as I now run 205/50/16 the lower profile might even improve handling a bit

Hope the pic's have uploaded Ok, I understand that wheels are very much a matter of personal opinion but would be curious what other S owneres think.
If anyblody is interested in my old wheels please see ad link below

I like them, but those wheelarches are far too clean!

They can be a mixed blessing, they look great when clean but you find yourself cleaning them regarly, although they are fairly easy to do on the S

I like the wheels, but they look too small to me...

Hi,

somebody had a sharp eye, they are smaller: 205/60/15 = 627 mm diameter versus 205/50/16 = 611.4 mm.
2.5%.

Looks very tidy Tony - I hope it hasn't made the ground clearance too low though?

Thanks for the comments guys, actually the ground clearance is virtually the same as the 205/60/15 std wheels, When put side by side the 16" wheels with 50 series tyres are only about 4mm smaller in diameter than the std wheels/tyres. They look smaller than that because the tyres are a much lower profile giving the appearance of a much smaller wheel. The speedo reading hasn't changed at all, the revs at certain mph are exactly the same, also if anything the ride quality has improved confused even SWMBO noticed the difference scratchchin

They look quite good and definitely more classy than some of the bling wheels you see on S-series.
Seems to suit white too, so I'll keep it in mind.

They are basically 7X16 ET25 offset ie same as as standard S wheels but 16" instead.
I got them direct from the Compomotive factory as I felt that was better,be careful though as the first price they quoted me was more than getting them from one of their agents, saying that they did me a good deal in the end. I must have spent a month or so researching different wheels etc before finally deciding on these ones bounce

I cringed when I read the title, I have never liked non standard wheels on the S but I have to say those are the only ones I think match the car, they are not too big and are a classic style. My only reservation would be the tyre profile, a slightly bigger one would have filled the arches better in my opion, but good work. Cars look well.

Hi grant good to hear from you again, glad you like the wheels I guess it's always a matter of personal taste but I havn't ever really liked the standard wheels that were on the car when I bought it from you, regarding the tyre profile, really they are only about 4mm lower in overall diameter than the standard wheels and as I said it has improved the ride quality for some bizzare reason.
cheers.....Tony..

To be honest i think because you have scrubbed the arches clean the gap is actually enhanced on the pictures. smile
