I'm putting Lucy's (Geralds breaker)chassis into James's (broken) car and have now found that the antiroll bar bracket mounting holes are 80mm appart on the new chassis whereas the mounts on the old chassis (and the actual mounts) have holes 72mm appart. Is this normal - Do the later chassis have the wider spaced bracket mounting holes?

Was "Lucy" an S1 ? believe earlier cars had a thinner diameter roll bar and therefore probably a different (shorter) bracket ?

Lucys ARB went to tonups2 Tony Long, the ARB was 26 mm and the hole centres for the brackets at 80mm, this seems to cover the options

24mm Front Anti Roll Bar to Body Bush 'S1'
26mm Front Anti Roll Bar to Body Bush 'S2'
22mm Front Anti Roll Bar to Chassis Bush S V8

Yes, it is normal. The larger bracket on the S2/S3 is of Sierra origin and the smaller bracket S1/V8S is (I think) Capri/Escort. Sounds like you need some Sierra ARB brackets and some appropriate sized bushes.

I also replaced my chassis and that is the problem I had thats why I bought Lucy's ARB and brackets rather than modify the brackets that I sent you. TVRCar Parts also sold the ARB's and brakets IIRC their price for the ARB was quite reasonable at around £65. I don't think you will get a bracket for the smaller dia. ARB with the wider bolt centres. I did think about modifying the smaller brakets by welding in small plates over the existing bracket holes and redrilling to the new centres but decided that as the S3 chassis had the larger ARB it might be the better to change the ARB to suit.
