Thanks for all the previous responses about my S2s performance, but I'm now at the the point where I don't know what to do with her.

She won't pull above 4,000 rpm, we've tried new airflow meters, fuel pump, plugs, checked the fuel mix all to no avail.

I brought the car 4 weeks ago for £3,500 & have since spent about another £1,000 trying to put it right.

Is it worth bitting the bullet & off loading her or is there something that I've missed?

Get hold of the ford engine diagnostic tester and see what that shows, mentioned in here.

http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a... does it keep cutting out?

Karl,

Don't give up - my star tester should be on the way from LastS4 to MickS2 at the moment but you are more than welcome to it when he is finished with it - PM me through my profile and I will put you in contact with whoever has it.

Cheers
Graham

Imo opinion - if you are a mechanic then fix it yourself.
If you are not then i would suggest going to these people http://www.guglielmimotorsport.co.uk/
Based in Daventry - not far. Steve the owner is a great guy imo and his main mechanic Dave has owned S`s in the past.
In fact rebuilt / reconfigured an S from this forum.
I would be amazed if they couldnt tell you whats wrong with it within 30 minutes.
Their hourly rate is fair also.
Me, i wouldnt waste too many hours of heartbreak trying to fault find yourself unless as i say you are a mechanic !
Good luck. Adrian

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs but have you tried the obvious like, play in the linkage/cable, carpet under pedal etc, have you tried manually moving the throttle under the bonnet

Adrian,

Thanks I rang this guy & he instantly told me it was the Fuel Temp sensor.
Wish I tried them before, would of saved me a couple of hundered quid with other garages. I'm taking up there tomorrow, so thanks for all the advice. I'm keeping the faith!
