2.9L V6 conical air filters
Discussion
Hi all,
I know a few people in the past have posted on the this forum requesting info on replacing the standard pipercross air filter with conical filters. Well if you are one of those people you may want to look at the pic of engine bay in this ad:

And what is a "vcar" anyway?
Ralph.

Don't know what a VCAR is but I'm not too sure about some of the things they've done to that particular car - but then everyone to their own. It looks like the replacement of the standard air filter with the conical ones as shown has the effect of moving the air intake backwards in the engine bay which presumably means hotter air to the engine - so not the best idea I suspect. Based on that I wonder if the twin filters offer any improvement other than being a bit more racy in some minds. The standard filter can be replaced for under £30 so why bother?Any views?

I'm planning on doing something similar to this on mine.
I'm going to keep the flexy hose of the plenum, knock up a spare bracket and have mine side by side. My S has two cold air inlet ducts mounted either side of the side of the mouth, so using those I'm going to route cold air up to the air filters. I know in my head that if done right it should look good but I'm not sure how or if it will affect the preformance of the car. Though I'm going to have a tinker over the next few months and find out.

I would have thought that the AFM's need to be as level as possible so that the flap inside operates freely ? one of these look a bit "twisted" ? easily rectified I suppose ?
I like what they have done to the bumper - removing the rubber strip - very neat
personally I dont like the side vents... what do they do ?
