Hi Richard

Almosy certainly your will have the Ford brake servo. If you have the brake fluid reservoir attached to the master cylinder thats Ford and the TRW/Girling part number is PSA328, you should be able to order at your local factors otherwise ebay or TVR Car Parts.

If the reservoir is mounted on the bulkhead with pipes connecting it the master cylinder then its SAAB 9000 and not available new you will have to get a reasonable s/h servo wich is difficult or convert to the Ford

Alternatively, you could do what I did.

Buy a fiesta diesel servo and weld the old clevis on. You can pick up the servo for £30 new, then just find a welder who knows his stuff.

If you want to go the original route try Ford, they will sell you one for about £160 special order.

That is the same type I modified.

That looks like the correct one.

£130 looks ok with VAT and delivery IMO.

wierd that, i have just diagnosed my servo as being up the swanny.

cant believe someone else is having the same problem at the same time!

anyway, i will also have a look around tomorrow, i dont think paying over a hundred quid is justified - think i like the sound of getting the other one then welding on the brackets etc.

If you would be happy with a second hand Ford unit then the guy on e-Bay with this e-mail address seems to be permanently breaking Fiesta's.
He had an XR2i servo, master cylinder and reservoir assembly for £30 plus £10 P&P.
Also saw that he was breaking a Mk3 1.8 Diesel Fiesta, same assembly.

If you are currently running a Saab unit then you would either have to do the clevis welding thing or drill out the brake pedal.

I had a dragging brakes when warm issue on my Saab based brakes. Turned out that spacing the master cylinder off the servo with washers (by approx 2mm) cured the problem. So I didn't do the Ford conversion.

If you go for the Fiesta units, new or secondhand, be aware that there are two Master Cylinder bores on units that look otherwise identical. one is too small dia at 20.6 mm and the one you want is 22.2 mm dia. the stroke is the same so the swept volume of fluid is different.

The XR2i unit is the one I bought and fitted (direct replacement as mine was the old Ford unit - not SAAB) and some other fiestas (including the Diesel IIRC ?) are 22.2 but you do need to check this out.

Go to the Brakes section of the useful links and you will see links to seal kits for SAAB units if thats all you need and to http://www.brakeparts.co.uk/ if you want to research the various options of Fiesta units.

this was the state of mine with the newly acquired ebay replacement alongside...
