Morning all,

Interesting start to the day...realised on the way to work that the milometer on the S had frozen and I think I was probably still looking at this when I nudged the wall in the car park leaving shards of Layland DAF orange plastic all over the ground weeping
Given that sourcing originals is pretty difficult and appears to involve re-mortgaging the house when found, I think I might have to go down the alternative replacement route as suggested by so many on here.....unless anyone has stumbled across a breakers yard full of old sherpa vans recently?!
So back to the original problem....anyone had their milometer pack up on them and is it a simple fix?

Nick

Mine did this when I very first got the car - quite an easy fix.

Get in car & start driving (slowly) - then with the handle of a screwdriver gently tap the odometer - this should 'free' the barrels of the odometer.

I did it and have not ahd any problems since.

Cheers

yep as with most things TVR, a good tap does the job

But obviously not tapping the wall with your indicators, sorry , it must be annoying

Got to say N1ck73, the alternative indicator lenses from BMW (Can't remember the model, E30 or something) look really good and fit well. Can't say I tried the Kia one's though. Well worth changing them over and they come in smoked effect (this is good if you have a red S, like me).
