Radiator mounts
Discussion
I`m stuck StUcK STUCK!!!!!
I NEED some grommets to mount my newly refurbished radiator, but I just can't find any anywhere that will do the job. What am I going to do??? I can't use the old ones as they are f**ked, and I really don't want to have to bodge something together. Any thoughts??

Where have you looked? They're just plain old grommets and shouldn't be hard to find. Most motor factors will stock them, if you haven't got any near you then Rally Design, Demon Tweaks and all those places sell them by the box, if you're still struggling for some reason you can buy grommet strip which is a rubber with the cross section of a grommet, cut to length and form into a circle, job done.
I haven't tried those places you mentioned there, but I have tried quite a lot including grommet manufacturers and haven't found one that would do the job properly. I don't think that grommet strip would even work - I don't think it would hold the radiator tight in place. I did think of making my own - you can buy this 'Flexane' rubber moulding stuff but I would need to have a mould made. I`ll try the places you have mentioned, but failing that, I`ll just have to bodge something up.

I don't see why you should have any trouble. All it is doing is providing a resilient connection between the radiator pegs and the chassis holes that they fit in to. In what way can it fail to do the job?
The best fit I`ve found is 5mm too small in height, 1mm too big on bore, 2mm too small on panel diameter, 1.5mm too small on panel thickness and overall diameter only 2mm bigger that of the panel hole. Although this grommet would indeed do the job, I don't think it would last very long as the radiator would be free to move, albeit a smallish amount, but enough to damage the grommets over time. I dont want to have to replace them every couple of years if I can help it. I may well have to go with these but I'd rather find something a bit closer to the original ones.

B&Q or a Plumber or Screwfix... rubber tap washers. As used on the 520 and Cerbera.
I bought a box of assorted sizes from Screwfix on the grounds that they were cheaper than buying prepackaged ones and twos and when I changed the Cerbera cooling system last week, found a couple of washers that were ideal.
