new hood tomorrow

Car has been with the trimmers all week having a new hood and the hoop recovered, can't wait to see her finishes. Will try to post some pics

I looked into it a while ago, coachtrimmers quoted £1,000 and then I found this on Ebay:

I eventually had it re-trimmed at a fraction of the cost originally quoted but just thought I would throw the Ebay item into the conversation - if I had the money at the time this is the route I would have gone down.

Sorry, computer not working at home and so I have had to wait till work to reply.

The cost for the hood and to re trim the hoop was £650.00. The hood was made from scratch and I must say he has done a great job. I haven't tested it in the hard rain or at great speed but will report back.

I now need to buy some new plastic recess peices that sit in the hoop and the front windscreen pillar as they look a bit old against the new hood (or I suppose I could take them out and spray them black??

Any problems with the waterproofing of the fabric then nip down to B&Q (other DIY sheds also available) and get some Thompsons water seal. A few quid for a litre or so.
I painted it neat onto my fabric (as advised by a thread on here) and the water just beads on the surface now.

Aerospace 303 is probably the best stuff to treat it with but costs more than water seal. Treated mine last year and its superb.
No water got in during Sclub 09 or the drive back
