Rear View Mirrors

Hi There,
Long time since I've posted to say the least!!
A couple of weeks back my Rear View Mirror fell off the windscreen.
Bought one of those 99p sticky pads from the garage. That lasted half a day (you get what you pay for I suppose).
Then I took the button out the back of it and went looking for some bonding stuff. It wasn't strong enough. And fell off.
Then before I could find some stronger bonding stuff - I lost the button. (Too much jumping around at a very loud very good gig - why was it in my pocket? because I'm stupid!!!).
Bought a cheapish replacement stick on mirror from Halfords. That lasted three weeks, until I was demisting the windscreen this evening and being a clumsy oaf, bashed it. Guess what? ... it fell off.
So I want a proper b
dy rear view mirror, bonded on with proper bdy bonding stuff and no more messing about.
However - I put "rear view mirror" or "replacement rear view mirror" into google - and of course it's not simple. There are a million and one different shapes and sizes and attachment points. I mean - how hard can it be? It's a rear view bdy mirror for sake. Hmmm quite hard apparently.
So - if any of you good people know of a good make or a quality emporium where I can buy a replacemnt mirror, of a good size that will fit to our windscreens - and could be reused if the windscreen had to be replaced - I should truely be in your debt.
I might be a bit less grumpy too.

When you stick the mirror on it needs to be warm and dry - it never stays stuck on if you do it cold (let alone bloody freezing!).
GENTLY warm it with a hairdryer - and clean the surface thoroughly with some spirit, warm the sticky pad, windscreen and the mirror bracket itself and stick it all together.

Samething happened to me last year - no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to stay on for any length of time 
Guys at Guglielmi's gave me something used in motorsport - not sure of name but the pack contained glue and small section of mesh that went between the mirror and the glass to help it adhere. It's been solid ever since

Thanks for all your help guys - that should certainly sort putting a mirror back on. The problem is that my original mirror is never going to work again (due to the lost button) and I just don't like the Halfords stick on one - oddly, it's not that wide.
So I do still need to source a replacement. Anyone got any ideas? The obvious one would be from a Capri (given its a capri windscreen) - but looking at the ebay images for one of those - it certainly isn't that. So I'm still a bit stuck!

The original mirror is from a Pug 205GTI. Never seen the mount that attaches to the screen offered but it might be worth trying a windscreen supplier or check out a scrap yard. The Pug 106 mirror is similar so worth looking out for.
Brilliant - I'll chase that up. Thank you!The dealer I bought my car off (sold now) had the windscreen replaced by Autoglass due to crack prior to me collecting it. After 3 years I ripped it off to remove the Le Mans car parking sticker goo off properly. I tried the Halfords stick on rubbish which lasted until the windscreen changed temperature. After another 2 years of living without it, I had to sell the car (finance, gutted) I went back to Autoglass to have the mirror re-attached. I was told by the man that they can't stick it on with glue due to the shape and flex of the screen (it would more likely crack the screen than make the mirror fall off). My advice would be to take it to the nearest windscreen place, smile lots, ask nicely, they do it for nothing and if it falls off, try the next place (same rountine).
