Hmmm! I wonder why they got it so cheap in the first place - so buyer beware for this I suspect, so if anyone is interested give it a very good going over.... (no I don't know anything about this car but they are not known for being cheap so ..)

I can't find the ebay listing now - but I'm sure it mentioned damage to the passenger door which you can just about see below, and with the low values of S's at the moment its probably enough to write it off

Can't see anything about damage to door and i can't spot any either all i can see is the reflection from the ground.

Yes looking at it again you're right its just the reflection - my guess is with a shagged clutch it may be stolen recovered & had a good ragging by the thieving scrotes before the clutch gave up.

I've emailed the seller to ask anyway.

i have brought a few cat d cars in the past and the breakers i have dealt with have been more than happy to tell me what the history of the car is, as they "are" informed by the insurance firms, unless Douglas Valley are not asking!!!!!

Looks a bargain to me aswell. My S3 was a cat D insurance loss, and once sorted was a great car. If anyone is seriously interested in this i will try and go there and have a look, [work commitments allowing] Im in warrington so its only about 12 miles or so away from me. Unsure if they are open on sundays so next poss time to view is next friday. Email me if genuinly interested, Tom.

If anyone is interested make sure you have a long long look at the chassis etc - cars can be written off if the chassis etc is not sound after a minor incident.

I hope its a straightforward stolen recovered but caveat emptor and all that.

I think you are right Chris about the chassis - anyone interested should have a good look at the whole car anyway and not rely on what the vendor might tell you - goes for any purchase so no different here so as the chassis is so key to TVR values.....

Is this cheap, or is there a bigger difference than I thought between S1 and S2? My S1 was £3k, all working, similar mileage good chassis and generally good nick. I think I did OK.

are they original indicators? mine is an S3 with what i thought were Fiesta indictors (domed oval shape). i've since changed them to clear ones - but the ones i took off were different fittings and the repalacements don't fit quite right (90 degrees out). Still as you can only see one side at a time you have to be pretty observant to notice!

Yeah they are the original indicators, they're off a DAF van not a Fiesta.

did they change them for the S3 then or have I changed some aftermarket items?
