brake pedal sensor

hi all
the v8s refurb is nearly complete, just need help in sourcing the pressure switch thats fixed to the brake pedal to turn on the brake lights when you push the pedal down.
any help appreciated.

Hi Tim not where I thought it was can help but its in a box of bits(in fact one of six) which i cant get to until I take gerald out of the garage and that wont be until ithe weather gets a bit better. So can help but will be delayed , the new switch is so sheap I would say go for it

Please be careful when changing the brake switch. I had a terrible time with my brakes constantly binding when they got warm.
Traced it back to the brake light switch holding the brake pedal off its return position. It was fine when cold but the heat expanded fluid took up all of the slack and put the brakes partially on all by itself.

I would suggest holding the new switch next to the old one to ensure that the length from the closed switch to the mounting face is the same. Also note if there are any spacer washers behind the switch when you remove it.

If you've already removed it or don't have one as you're rebuilding an S then you'll need someone to post here on whether there's a spacer washer or not.
Can anyone help? As mine isn't standard I can't advise what is.

Alternatively if you find your brakes sticking on when hot then just put about a 2mm spacer in. But make sure that the brake lights aren't on all the time.
