Throttle Cable - replacements available??

I know this subject has been coverred before but searching specific forums seems more difficult than in the past...from what I remember.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement throttle cable? I know "Clever Trevor" do one for the V8, I'm guessing it might do?

Desperately needed as it's my final frustration after a body off re-build.

Just been on to him. They're on back order at the moment.

Incidentally, I have just put your stainless bonnet hinges/brackets (bought off you on ebay) on the bonnet after the body off rebuild. Really nice piece of kit. Cheers!

If your outer cable is still ok then bicycle brake cable does the job, and cheap too. Might need a screw clamp type nipple for the underbonnet end.
The outer could also be made up from bike shop bits, you only need an appropriate length of outer plus 2 screwed ends to support it.
Don't use gear cable its thinner.

Cheers Rob - that was going to be my option. I did a similar thing many years ago with my S1 for the bonnet release cables.

That'll probably be for steel ones that will rust. Spend a couple of quid at a proper bike shop and get a stainless cable.

Yes i too got a length of bowden cable from a hardware shop,and bolt pinch.Still on four years later.outlived the original cable i had from David Geralds by 3 years 11 months and counting,it was just of inferior quality and 20 times the price,its got to be the way to go from my experience.
