cossy 24v - do I need an MT75 box

I have a type 9 box (actually I have 2 of these) I'm installig a cossy 24v motor with a 4.2 LSD diff (I do intend using for motorsport) - should I replace the type 9 with an MT75? as some say the ratios are better. Could I sell the type 9's to fund the 75?
does the gearstick locate in the same position?
