Fuel pump question

Hi, just completly drained all my old petrol out.

Problem i got now, is no fuel getting to the engine, i took a hose off and put into petrol can then ignition on and let the fuel pump do the work. Put 3 gallons new petrol in.

Does the system need bleeding of some kind

Drained refurbished the tank then drained and refilled again last month fired up no problems today so I'm guessing it self bleeds. Mine's the S3.

Which pipe did you undo?
Little confused because mine only primed on the ignition switch and not run continously.

Cheers for that. I took a pipe off and left the ignition on for the pump to do its stuff for about a minute, but no petrol was coming out the pipe (the same pipe i used to drain it) so a bit confused.

Anymore help out there, gratefully recieved.

You need to reconnect the pipe as it is drawing air, reconnect it and you should repressurise the fuel rail

I then had to attach another pipe because the petrol didn't come out that pipe but the metal thingy (name?) that pipe connected to.

Judging by your photo you had taken off the fuel return pipe which runs back to the tank, this would explain why you had no fuel comming from that pipe,the metal thingy you refer to is the fuel regulator and this releases exess fuel pressure from the fuel rail to that tube and ultimatly back to the tank. So you drained the tank through the regulator.

Put this pipe back on the regulator and prime the fuel pump my turning the ignition to switch position two a few times you should then have pressure to the fuel rail. You can check this by taking off the plastic cap on the shnieder valve which sits on the fuel rail and depressurising the fuel rail by releasing the valve just as you would let bike tyres down.Make sure you have a rag handy and watch your eyes.

Alternativly just turn her over until she starts

Thankyou my friend, had to read that a few times, (Kronenbourg) will do that.
Sounds like i got myself an air block, hence the bike tyre valve thing.

Will try next time i'm home from work, and still light. Failing that, next w/end.
