Well, I took the S to the local TVR Car Club meeting yesterday. First time she's been driven since October - not because she's "laid up" for winter, but because I also have a Cerbera which has been occupying my time...
Anyway, the S started first turn of the key. If only everything in life was as reliable as a TVR S... Edged it out of the garage, geve it a quick wipe over with speed detailer, stand back and admire. Ok the wheels are a bit shabby-looking, the interior looks like it's been burgled, but still, very nice.
What was even more amazing, though, and the point of this post, was that I had almost forgotten how good these cars are to drive. The meeting was 40 miles away, and even before I had finished the first 5 miles to meet up with the other two S-Series cars I was convoying with, I had fallen in love with my little car all over again.
Ok, it's nowhere near as "point and shoot" fast as the Cerbera, not as comfy - but on the twisty roads we used to get there, the S was just fantastic! It handles like a go-kart, it sound great, and I don't have to look at the temperature gauge every 5 seconds!
These are brilliant little cars, don't let the "big boys" in their Cerbs and T-cars look down their noses at their older brethren - there is no doubt that the S and the wedge cars not only were exactly what TVR needed to be making at the time, but are still superb, enjoyable and fast cars in their own right!
The Cerbera is away being serviced (and cooling system diagnosis and repair, finally!). I am in no hurry to get it back anyway - I have a list of things to do to the S now, to make up for a neglected winter!

We have 2 pre 1980 Taimars that have been converted to V8s by John Wadman (the Canadian importer) and our roads right now are snow free, so you know what I am sporting. A big "TVR GRIN." Even driving our daughter's 1973 supercharged 2500M brings out the grin. I am enjoying a drive whenever I can sneek one in as I know in the next 2 months we will get some more snow and the 3 cars will have to return to the garage untill the roads are dry again. I just have to remember to put the cars on the hoist and pressure wash the under side to remove the salt but the time spent doing that is well worth the grins that come from a drive. Totally agree!! I had my 1st drive of the year yesterday, it was AMAZING! Took it on a great road and it was hard not to smile the whole way, just the sound, steering, the character of the little thing is amazing. A mate is looking to get a Cerb, he's now only looking for a redrose, i personally think he's missed the point a little, in Briton it's hard to use fast cars, and having this true Britsh sports car, with the hood down on a summers day, driving along the perfect road is hard to beat, up the S!!!
It must have been the weekend for it! I had my S out for the first time in ages too.
Was great to be out in the TVR, really gets rid of the stress of the day.
I was not sure if I would regret buying the S because I had never had a TVR before - That was last year and I still feel its the best car purchase I have made for years!

I too was out for a couple of hours in my S on Sunday - with the targa roof off. Would've been out for longer if it hadn't been so bl**dy cold down here is South Wales!
But... the sun was shining, the handling was spot on, and the exhaust note... well, I just couldn't stop smiling!

Was out in the S yesterday and I confess that I didn't remove the roof.
We had a severe attack of 'global warming' that meant speeds of only 20-30 kmh and a lot more oppostite lock than usual
Have the Landrover today as the cover is completely frozen to the Tiv.
MeteoFrance reports that the last time it was this bad was 1860 something.
