Thanks to an idea from Andrews website, I have been looking at Corrado wing mirrors to replace the current ones on my S.

I have the original ball joint jobs that are a royal pain in the behind to adjust. Especially the passenger one which requires multiple cycles of contortions to stick a hand out the passenger window, adjust the mirror, sit back down in the drivers seat, realise all you can see is a nice piece of sky, then starting all over again. banghead

Anyway, has anyone on here fitted the Corrado mirrors to their car? I know the MX5 ones are popular but I want to be different biggrin

I'll have to figure out what paint to use to colour match them and how to fit the wiring from the electric adjuster mechanism but I'm up for that challenge. Just wanted to know if they would look alright on the car once I was finished really. Anyone have any knowledge or opinions?

You'll have seen from my site that I didn't fit the mirrors because somebody has lacquered my doors with the existing mirrors in place, and the Corrado mirrors wouldn't cover the different finish that's presently hidden by the mirror base.

So I still have them, but won't use them unless I ever decide to get the whole car repainted.

As my mirrors are the earlier ones there is only the attachment hole and 2 small screws either side that would need covering so I think the Corrado mirror should cover that fine.

How do you think they would look on the car? They can't give less visibility than the useless things I have at the moment so that is my only real issue. Don't want the car looking like it has huge ears! ears

If you wanted to be rid of those mirrors let me know and I may be able to help biggrin

As far as appearance is concerned, they are identical to the Cerbera and Tuscan mirrors, so that should give you an idea what they look like.

I think that the mirrors could be re-homed for a small adoption fee...

Ahh ok, didn't realise they used Corrado mirrors.

Rehoming fee sounds perfectly resonable, I'll drop you an email in the morning.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks, got both emails now (you plonker!!!). I'll photo both mirrors tonight, one is in better condition than the other cosmetically (one is black, the other is red but resprayed black - not by me, that's how I bought it).

Yeah I know, I can be quite special sometimes! jester

They'll need painting to match the car once I figure out the right paint. I know the current ones are black but think they would look better matched to the body. Look forward to the pics biggrin
