Nearly ready for body lift except.........

Hi, I am nearly ready for a body lift on my S1, the speedo cble is the last thing to go, just one thing, how is this attached to the gearbox ? It looks like a circlip but that can't be all, can it ? thanks in advance!!

I'm pretty sure it will be just that circlip - it only has to hold the cable in place and its surprising how much strength a circlip has, especially if it has a bit of added rust

anyway I don't remember seeing any photos - come on you can't tease like that!

If you need any help posting photos let me know - if you've already taken a load I'd use photobucket as you can upload a big batch of photos in one go.

I'd advise you take loads anyway - you never know how long the refurb will last - I'm in my 3rd year! It gets hard to remember where everything goes......

Snap! went the circlip, thanks for your help, i got the guys from work coming over this morning to lift, i'll get some pics and post them ASAP, ive been taking loads of pics to assist with the rebuild (as per advice on here !!)Thanks again!

Well at least you disconected your speedo connection - the V8S has a wired connection, I wondered why the engine wasn't coming out as I kept pumping the hydraulics on the engine crane, its got a surprising bit of strength that bit of wire as both I and SEB400 can confirm (he told me to remember to disconnect it so I didn't rip the wires out)

I lost a load of mine (emptied a card onto the laptop instead of the pc they should have been on) and had to use yours to work out the fuel and brake pipe routes.

Well good as I'm trying to figure out the route of the fuel pipe from the filter to the pump, does it just follow the cradle & swoop under the tank? It feels like it should have a bit of protection from road debris.

Right, Body off , i have some photos, not sure how to post them though, Chassis is not as bad as I thought, still enough to test my welding skills ! Thanks for all your help and hints !

Pistonheads now has a photo hosting facility - but I haven't used it, I don't know if you can upload a load of photos at once.

You can use photobucket which is what I use.
Don't go any bigger that 640x480 with the pic size as Pistonheads cuts it down again.

Photobucket allows you to use their bulk uploader so you can upload a load in one go.
To post each picture you have to manually cut and paste each link, but it really doesn't take that long once you get going. See if you can make sense of my old link above first.
