following on from taking the trainling arm off i need to replace the small metal brake pipe and the flexible pipe as they don't look to tasty
are these metric or imperial for drums ?
as the brake pipe list off the links states there metric but an old post states i found they are imperial

As Chris said, be careful. Imperial male will fit metric female fittings (but not the other way round). The thread pitch is close enough that they'll appear to do up ok but its a pretty sloppy fit and not safe.
My S3/92 isn't metric/metric. It's metric on the brake cylinder and imperial on the hose end. The hose is imperial both ends.
Quite why they did it like that I can't imagine but I seem to recall that someone else found the same thing when they were doing a full rebuild.

The new looking one is metric and the tatty one is imperial, not a lot of difference eh ?

Most car spares places or motor factors have a rack of those little packets of "bits n bobs", buy a pack of metric female brake pipe nuts, if they screw nicely onto your old flexi's they must be metric and obviously if they don't stands a good chance they are imperial.
ETA not a lot of difference even if photo wasn't all fuzzy !

Or screw the flex hose direct into the wheel cylinder and compare the fit with the union on the end of the copper pipe. If the hose fitting feels sloppy(er) most likely it's imperial.
Easiest is to take the copper pipe to whoever you get to make up your brake pipes. They'll be able to check and give you what you need. Then you have to source a new flex, I think theres a thread somewhere that identifies the part. I had some made up by Goodridge, they were very helpful.
