After being politely informed they no longer need my custom i've started to look elsewhere. What is the current best deal and is any one company picking up hagertys customers with a good offer. Got three quotes so far between
£136 and £242 for a V6 kept in a garage (locked)of course. Also is it best to join the AA relay for £69 or go with the breakdown cover offered by the brokers. driving

Chris

Did Hagerty say why they no longer wanted your business? I ask as I have just changed to them and they could not have been more helpful.

I went with Mannings who are based in Reading. They gave me a reasonable quote for my Griff - £320. Apparently Hagerty are no longer insuring post 1980 TVRs although they will continue wiht existing policies (they renewed my S policy in February). Funnily enough, both Hagerty and Mannings seem to be underwritten by Allianz so I don't know what the reason is behind Hagerty's decision....

Hagerty have dumped me as well. I've called a few places from the insurance wiki: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

My best quotes so far have come from Classic Line and Heritage Classic.

Yes Hagerty dropped me too in April. I went with Classic Line for £170. Interestingly after my insurance lapsed with Hagerty they then sent me a letter saying 'did you knwo your insurance has lapsed, if this is an oversight please give us a call!'. Er thanks.

I wrote in January following some comments on here. they said they would no longer insure cars past a certain date (post 1980 I think). There was a cut off date of about mid feb, mine are due for renewal in june and they said they would not offer to re-insure (this is not the same as declinature).

So, if they have renewed yours after the cut-off date that would be contrary to what they told me. You may have been very lucky and slipped throughsmile

This just shows how inconsistent the insurance companies are: I just went with Mannings for £180 (2000 miles) or £224 (5000 miles) but heritage wanted £338 for a 3000 mile policy with higher XS and garaging clause (which doesn't matter to me but the flexibility of not having it is good) and no benefits as I could see. The complete opposite of the pricing range from OP above.

Insurance - it does my head in silly

Has a letter from Hagerty today telling me my policy expired yesterday.....

Just insured with Heritage £124 for fully comp', 3000 miles agreed value.

Luckily for me that the Hagerty letter arrived as I thought the policy expired next weekend and I'm off on a big trip tomorrow!

Yup, me too.

A bit off topic, but to add my son whilst his car is being repaired is either:

1. Cancel the Ka policy and renew (£250, 8 years NCB) for £2k!!! Thereby costing £1750 extra.
2. Add him for 2 weeks to my MG for £36 and £13 per week extra if needed.

Where is the logic!
To add him to my wedge policy last year (with Hagerty) would have only been £70 but we didn't do it in the end.

Clearly, the Ka is in a different class performance wise rofl
