Stainless fuel tank cradle?

I took the fuel tank off my s2 during the partial body lift I've just had the (dis)pleasure of performing.

Along with rusty chassis outriggers, I also discovered that the fuel tank cradle was past its best and was rather crumbly. Surprisingly the fuel tank itself is in remarkably good condition and just needs a good coating of paint on the outside....bizarre!

I was thinking about having a new fuel tank cradle made up in stainless steel. Typically stainless is more brittle than mild steel but in this particular application I can't see an obvious reason why it couldn't be used. I just wondered if anyone had already done this and if so what grade stainless they had used.

On similar lines and maybe an alternative. My S3 has had a new cradle courtesy of david gerald tvr. Its powder coated and would save you a load of work. Think it was about £100 and was part of a partial lift requested by a previous owner)will check the invoice for you.

After having 2 petrol tank frames sand blasted and both returning like sieves ,i have successfully made my own and have plenty of material left over for several more if someone need one kev

Got a used one in apparntly solid (but surface rust) condition would swao for beer tokens!!
