Hi Phil,

You can get fancy drop links from Steve Heath:

https://delta.securesslhost.net/~shenglt/catalog/p...

I don't know about the original rubber-bushed ones, or the source of the ARB (if not a TVR special).

Regards,
Graham

Here's my take on the drop link

Further pics to follow as I develope fitting options

Can have more made if anyone is interested (stainless steel of course) its set up as a turnbuckle so adjustments to length can be done while fitted to the car.

Cost about £35 just for the turnbuckle, will give a inclusise price in a day or so

OK for the princely sum of £27.00 the pair...

what you see here (for each side) is
two 12mm Rose Joints
two M12 half(thin) nuts one length of M12 steel rod,
one 12mm 10.9 alloy HT shoulder bolt with M10 thread and self locking nut. (the rose joint is 12mm but the wishbone mounting hole is 10mm and I didnt want to drill it out to 12 - I could have used a 12mm bolt)
various washers and spacers and an R pin.
The ARB end was actually 12.4mm dia on mine so had to be reduced to 12.0 to closely fit the female rose joint. The black you see in the top picture is heat shrink to keep the grime off the nuts etc.
McGills Motorsport supplied the rose joints etc

Its probabbly not as pretty as Steve Heaths excellent product but I just wanted to see what I could do...

Kevin

I see you used the same approach as Steve Heath where the rose joint goes onto the ARB itself.

I have been thinking of have a M12 thread cut on the thin bit of the ARB and locating the upper rose joint with a couple of lock nuts on the inboard end (using two lock nuts would let me adjust the inboard position) and fix the whle lot in place with a nyloc on the outboard end.

What do you think? Do you consider the upper rose joint needs lateral movement (against the rubber bushes - or bits of heater hose)?

I dont think it will need lateral movement as the ball should allow the small amount of angle change required in that direction as the arm moves up and down. I added spacers to align the centre-line as close as I could to the original link setup.:scrathcchin:

I notice your arrangement overcomes the 12mm vs 10mm for the wishbone connection by having a 10mm rose joint at one end of the turnbuckle and a 12 at the other. Looks very neat. I went for the female ends as I felt they were more robust so could not join an M12 to an M10 without getting into special studs rolleyes

I might still tap out the wishbone mounting hole to enable an M12 bolt to be used instead of the shoulder-bolt. Its "In Development" wink

The other suggestion i have is the use of dust covers for the rose joints as they are exposed to all the cr:acensored:ap thrown up from the road
