Fuel temperature sensor

Does this do anything ?

I ask because my "old" fuel system (pressed steel fuel rail) had one but "new" system (cast alloy rail) has a tapping for it but won't screw in coz it fouls the pressure regulator. Have made a little adaptor but now its so far from the fuel I doubt it sensing anything.
Sure there wasn't one on the "scrap" engine I took alloy rail off ?

Interesting, my cast alloy rail also has a tapping in it but nothing fitted and no spare wiring and connector either. I did'nt know which sensor it was missing but assumed it was not required as there was no wiring.

I would have thought it some engines do have it and some don't it would correspond with a different ECU. I think if your car has it you will need to connect it - I think the ECU may be unhappy without it, but this is a logical guess.
