Hi All - does anyone know where to source these from?

Im taking the bonnet off this weekend to realign it and wouldn't mind replacing the worn rubbers at the same time...

Is getting the bonnet of a right pain or should it be smooth?

You ought to wait til after Easter, to remove your bonnet...

Seriousl tho' I got some rubber sheet from my local DIY shop and some marine rubber glue which done the trick...

I didn't remove the bonnet just renewed the pads, from what i've heard its a bit of an ar$e job....I wouldn't try it as a solo job....

Didn't someone somewhere recommend using the felt pads that you can get to go under furniture legs when you have wooden flooring? They should be in B&Q in the flooring section. Apparently they don't damage the paintwork quite so much.

Hi,

I used 2 mm thick rubber pads that i got from work. There 27 mm long x 12 mm wide x 2 mm thick. There very good on all sorts of things. If they are what your after let me know, email your address and I'll post you some, cost now't.

Bonnet removal can be done on your own. I did it this way prior to my front end resto. First, place a large blanket in front of the car (to put the bonnet on). Second, remove the indicators (if you intend to stand the bonnet up on its front, which it will do without falling over). Next, put the bonnet on its stay and undo the 2 nuts that hold it onto the hinges. Then lift it off (can't remember exactly how I did this bit, but I did do it on my own fairly easily by lifting one side off the hing and then the other). Putting it back on can be done as a one man job too. It certainly would be a lot easier with another pair of hands though.
