I had new AVO shocks fitted to the rear last year to my S3c, but i was advised by TVR specialist that I could use the springs that were on the car as they looked ok. When the new shocks were fitted, the springs didn't really fit, as the back looked 'jacked up' so I took it back to TVR and they said I would need new springs. Had them fit the springs this morning, but they have called me to say the new springs are just as bad!!! And the car is looking the same. They said if I take the car back and give it a few weeks they may settle down, what do you guys think??
Decided my car is also sitting too high even with shocks wound down as low as possible so cut 40mm off each spring. problem now is with suspension at full drop (jacked up or could happen going over hump back bridge ?)top spring retaining collet thingy becomes loose i.e. no tension on it, is this normal / acceptable ?

I would say definitely not acceptable. tvrgit said:
I was in exactly the same position as you a few years ago, and it didn't settle down that much, even with the adjusters on the lowest setting. I ended up buying shorter springs.
So with your shorter springs you still had tension on them with shock fully extended ?Obviousley I could wind the lower spring seat up but this would just counter-act the shorter springs ? Cutting them down myself is a short term fix to get things right before splashing the cash for some "proper" springs the right length and strength
Just had my Avo's back (squeaking been rectified FOC) guess I need to talk to them now about getting ride height sorted properly and safely
