Tomorrow is the big day.....

'Full Podie piggy back treatment'

Just spoke to Mike at Austec, the chip is ready, Paul is ready, I'm more than ready...

I have just read Podie's report again.
I sounds like the weather is going to be pretty cr@p in the south though..

I will post pics, report and results on Monday...

Who else has power/torque graphs for their 'S'? It would be very interesting to make a comparison over a number of cars...

I found this kicking about. 2.8 Cologne modified to 3150cc Unleaded with Piper BP285 cam fitted. Everything else is standard.

Ford Capri 2.8i
Maximum power speed :5404 Rpm
Power at flywheel (corrected) :186.9 BHP
Power at wheels :155.8 BHP
Maximum torque speed :3877 Rpm
Maximum engine torque (corrected):208.1 lb/ft
Maximum engine speed reached in test :5921 Rpm

Imagine what Austec could do with this as a starting point.

Sorry it's a bit big.

inetesting graph that .. why don't the lines cross at 5250 revs? .. might be smoothing error on the curves ..

Thats what I thought too!

This graph might show an average of the days best figures.

(ie, torque and power were measured on different runs)

Looks like one of those graphs from an engine build software program, which predicts your engine output after you have done all of the mods.

It came from this site, http://ferriday.co.uk/power_3150_v6_cologne.htm , but chances are it is a manually drawn copy, rather than a scan of the actual run, hence the error.

Sorry Paul....

I am a bit miffed....

Woke up on Friday to 4 inches of snow, I was wondering whether to go or not, as its a 70 mile trip to Austec and I didn't a fancy tail happy journey.

No worry though, motorways were clear.

Arrived at Austec 9:15.
Waited around for a bit........
........
........

And a bit more.
........

They were not having a good day, both of their Gas Analysers had broken...so Paul couldn't set the car up on the R/R.

Waited for a bit more....

They borrowed a unit form a local garage, but this wouldn't fire up.....

A chap then turned up to check the Rolling Road as Austec need to upgrade to increase usage to over 400 BHP...

This meant another delay....Although we couldn't do anything as the Analyser was not working...

Paul and Mike were getting pretty pissed off by this time...Of course I was calm. It wasn't their fault after all...These things happen.

Time was getting on...Paul started to wire in the Unichip, only for their PC to go up the swanny so Paul couldn't get the wiring diagram for the chip from Dastek..

Another delay..........

About 3 O'clock Paul suggested that he should keep the car as he would need at least 4 hours on the R/R to set the chip....

We called it a day.....

2 1/2 hours to get home around the M25, M3....

ME = Not a happy bunny.....

Glorious sunshine on Saturday.....No Car...

They are waiting for spare parts to fix their analysers today so fingers crossed.

Almost feel guilty, my car has possibly helped with their present backlog. I'd better give them a ring then
