V6 and V8 Wiring Diagrams

I have just about completed the re-drawing of the V6 wiring diagrams and will be happy to make available in PDF A3 format, usual proviso if you use them it is at your own risk while I believe they are accurate I give no guarantees (dont forget the Steve Heath comment that they are indicative only) so caveat emptor. I can get them printed up at A3 and laminated if people are interested but there would be a cost plus some P&P, will be less than a £5.

It would be fantastically useful if there were a pdf wiring diagram for the v8 (preferably one that resembles the wiring present in the car)

Hi Steve

It will be based on the wiring diamgrams first supplied by TVR (theres your first likelyhood for error) and included in Steve Heath's bible but I would be able to incorporate any updates/corrections

I tried to apply those diagrams to my car then gave up and decided I didn't actually care where most of the wires that connected the car loom to the engine one go in the car.

I suspect that TVR have supplied entirely the wrong diagrams and that they are for a wedge. There are things on them that definitely aren't on an S such as head light motors.

I have used them with an autoelectrician and they were OK. I'm not sure what you have but mine dont show anything not on the cer eg no head light motor. I guess you might have the wrong ones. If you PM me I'll send a couple in PDF format, not quite finalised though.

Yep totally agree but the basic circuitry is the same. There are differences which is why I added a whole load of extra diagrams in the bible such as the electric mirrors, the 14CUX ECU and a couple of other things that I can't remember at the moment.

The main problem is that the wiring changed and was often not documented so that you have to have your wits about you when using them. The Wedge based diagrams were supplied by TVR when I asked for the V8S ones. You can have two cars that were made within weeks but have wiring differences. TVR did seem to consistently apply the standard colour coding which is why I also included that in the book. If you find a cable you are not sure off, chcek the colour against the function and the chances are it will something to do with it. That can be a big help.

If you think that is bad... just be thankful you don't have an early wedge where all the wiring was black and only identified by plastic collars which faded or fell off...
