Snake Pass Meet this Wednesday...

Its time we had another meet at Snake Pass, so I will be making my way there on Wednesday night and look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible...

My Itinerary is to leave Clayton West 6.00'ish, up Denby Dale, New Mills, Woodhead pass, Glossop, over Snake Pass and down to the Dam then back up Snake Pass to the Pub (7.00-7.30'ish) where customary pint, steak sandwich, tyre kicking, mickey taking, notes comparing and genral good crack...

Tinks - notice its not a "Mini" meet this time so you have to come in the Tiv

Jaye - how about we meet same place, same time as last meet ?

Ken - tell you mate with the excellent "M" to come again.(sorry forgot his name)

Andy - Its a long way mate but would be good if you could make it...

Bob (Pursyluv) - will we see you again this time ?

Alan (Wiz) - Any chance you could get there ?

Adrian (Aruck) - Hopefully you can make it.
Jimed - Bring that beast of yours ?

Thanks for the invite I'll def take the offer up one day.

Unfortunately the MOT has run out and i have a hole in one of my outriggers so the little TVR will be off the road for a little while.

If the offer still stands I would like to come along for a natter and a look around.

I'm back up in Leeds first thing in the morning to tinker with my JZR before (fingers crossed) getting it MOT'd at dinner time. If all is well then ill meet you at the pub (don't think id be able to keep up for the full run!) If however, she fails then a lift for part of the way would be much appreciated as ill be stuck in the scenic.

Rubbish weather in Sheffield this morning! If it stays this way i may not bother bringing the kit down, hope that the rain eases up a little. Will the meet be on regardless or re-scheduled for a later date?

Slightly off topic but related to the Snake Pass I'm staying in the area for a week towards end of Aug & intend driving the Snake Pass plus other interesting routes around the area.

Anything I need to know re potential scamera vans etc - are they likely to be present at 05:00 (not that I plan on a particularly quick run of course, useful to know)?

I know that one of the roads there has now ave scameras, anything else I need to look out for?

I dont think I've seen a fixed camera anywhere between Glossop and the Dam over the pass, not sure about mobile cameras. To be honest the climb from Glossop could be a fast road but from the top to the Dam in either direction is too winding and bumpy for me to enjoy anything much over 50 (the speed limit on that road is now 50) in an S still on Koni's.

Watch out for the Mobile speed trap usually disgused as a white van with no markings parked in the layby near the Ladybower dam

Cheers, local knowledge is what I'm after. Although with my brake issue may have to take alternative wheels; which is terribly boring. Will be doing the roads regardless though

Definitely, saw it a couple of weeks ago, absolutley no markings on it to suggest it's a camera van. From Sheff it's on the LHS at the end of the straight just before you get in to the long right hander
