First breakdown - thoughts?

Hi Chaps,

After 5 years of ownership the S let me down at the weekend. It was my own fault I uttered the words "last one to the pub buys dinner!" Err that would be me then. Anyway I git it running again but want to get to the bottom of it to make sure it doesn't happen again. The symptoms were excesive kangarooing (spelling) under load, If I took it ou of gear and revved it seemed fine. Then when I found a safe place to stop it struggled at idle then stalled. After a quick look I saw that the wire from the mass air flow sensor was a bit dodgy at the meter end, I taped this up, checked the throttle pot and fired it up and all was fine. Could this just be the wire giving a bad contact? Or something else? any help appreciated.

Also Check the vacuum pipe that runs from the throttle (just under the throttle pot) to the fuel regulator at the rear of the N/S Cyl Head. If that pipe is split or detatched, you could experience those symptoms and its an easy fix.
