I have stripped my S3c completely, so I intend renewing any bits and bobs as it goes back together. This includes all the bushes. There are numerous references on PH and in sprint to the use of poly bushes. Does this make the ride much harder? appreciate any advice or tips from anyone who has renewed theirs.

Not a harder ride, but certainly more controlled. They basically reduce the amount of flexing compared to standard bushes, but there are different levels of hardness I believe. I bought my front bushes from Tower View and they made a very positive difference to the handling.

What bushes did you get Andy? As in for what parts. I have Deflex/Poly bushes on my Mini all round and would like to do the TVR. Was it difficult to replace them?

I just did the ones on the wishbones (8), about £80 IIRC. Hardest part is the removal of the old ones. I had to drill through the rubber between the inner sleeve and the wishbone to get them to push out, but then I did mine in situ. If the car is in bits, then using a press to push the bushes out would be a lot easier. Tower view advised against attempting the rears in situ, as they will only come out with a press. I will consider doing them if I have to replace the trailing arms at some point.
