European Breakdown Cover

Hiya

I'm planning a couple of trips to France and Germany over the new few weeks and am struggling to find a European Breakdown Insurance company that will cover my 1991 S3 for a reasonable price.

Who do you all use and what can I expect to pay?

Trouble is as the car is less than 20 years old it won't get on a classic policy yet, so for 3 days travel i'm being quoted ~£55, and for a year over £230!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Asked a similar question little while back but got little response, because I had had a good quote on car insurance (1990 S3)but their breakdown/recovery was expensive. The guy who quoted me admitted this and even suggested I shop around for alternative cover for this part.
Problem I found was all the "big names" don't want to know when it comes to cars over ten years old.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I got car insured and with full UK/European breakdown/recovery for less than your £230 with "RH Specialist Insurance".



Now waiting for the reply that says "Oh no! not them, had terrible experience with them etc. etc.

I've been with RH Specialist for several years now for this reason - I've not been able to beat their combined insurance/breakdown price anywhere.

Needed to use the breakdown service in Belgium last year and they were excellent.

That was a fantastic tip!

I called them on 0049 1805 10 11 12 and now have full european breakdown cover for a year......for 79.50 EUROS!!

Covers me in any vehicle and from reading up on the threads online they seem to offer great service:

Its always recommended on here for euro trips inc Nuerburgring.

Covers you in the UK too AFAIK - if you breakdown over here they send the AA!!

Cheaper than paying AA cover just for UK!!!
