poor idle and idle speed control valve

Hi All
New owner of a 1989 series 1.5 stored for 3 years.....

anyway, the car starts ok, but wont idle and dies, if you remove the wires to the ISCV the car runs smoothly .
Keeps going if you throttle it.

I have replaced the valve its self, with no change.
The throttle pot checks out ok. 5v dc across the feed and a smooth voltage change when operating the throttle. also checked in ohms ok.
i have cleaned the throttle butterflies and airways.

any suggestions please !!!!!!!

Hi, the voltage from the throttle pot should be 0.6V at idle and go up to about 4.5V at full throttle, with the voltage you have got the butterflies are in slightly the wrong place at idle, also worth checking for any air leaks which would ruin the vacumn at idle and give the symptoms you suggested, good luck.
