Discussion
My otter switch has gone short circuit (fan on all the time) and needs replacing. However I am considering modifying the coolant pipework at the same time as replacing the switch (have silicon hoses to go on, have spare swirl pot to shot blast and powder coat and intend to re-core radiator). However rather than blasting and refitting the existing hoses (I don't want stainless ones as I'd prefer to colour code than bling the engine bay) I am considering replacing as much as possible with silicon and using an otter switch housing from car builder solutions, with two aluminium right angles joiners. However I need to know whether I need a different otter switch or whether a standard one would fit the new pipes.
Therefore my question is does anyone know the thread and pitch of the otter switch (later chim/griff style one)?
Thanks
Mark

Yes indeed!
I looked into otter switches and options when I needed a new pipe to replace the steel one across the front of the rad - it had the switch mounted in it.
I completely by accident came across a thermostat housing that had provision for the otter switch on the V8 so I did away with the threaded union required in the pipe and used the revised thermostat housing.
If you need any M22x1.5 fittings I discovered that its a common size in hydraulic unions.
