Took the S for a rolling road session at Austec today, not exactly local to me but I've heard and read good things about them.
Hour and half on the dyno and car is now running like a dream. Power up nearly 10 bhp to 184.9 with Piper "fast road" cam, but its the smoothness of the engine and the way it now drives that is so impressive, a total transformation !
Not too used to paying to have work done on my car (done most stuff myself) but this has got to be the best 200 quid or so (including tank of fuel to get there and back)I've ever spent on the car.

Any other engine mods, also is it the standard ecu?
Engine and ECU standard apart from cam, but did give it a "top end" overhaul earlier this year, de-coke, valve grind etc. and set of re-con injectors. Heads were by no means "ported and polished" but did spend a few minutes with the Dremel grinding out some of the worst lumps and bumps !Now all I need is a volunteer driver so I can try a Drag Race against my 4.0 Chim

Is there a "better" chip available ?
As I understand it, Paul at Austec "tweeks" the standard ECU and this is good enough for a road engine that remains tractable, smooth and conparatively economical ? There is a "piggy back" ( Dastek Unichip ?) chip available but he told me these only benefit the catylist cars.
Have read that the induction system design is the limiting factor on these engines so without more air (turbo/supercharger ?) no point in a chip that can basically only pump more fuel in ?
