Help for my poor (wet) S2 - car covers & door drop

Hi all,

I have been trying to find somewhere to store my poor S2 over Winter. I'm on a limited milage policy (3000 miles) and have already done 1000 since August so to stop myself being tempted I've had to declare SORN for the rainy season!!

Sadly I can't find anywhere inside , and I'm really struggling with water ingress. The car has bad door drop on the passenger side, but when I've had a look to address it the bottom 'big hinge bolt' is corroded and just spins when I tried to tighten it and I think the door seals also need replacing.

In the first instance: can anyone reccommend a good outside cover for the car for over the winter, and reccommend anything I need to do to the car to store it for 4-6 months?

And the second, has anyone had the same door drop problem and how should I go about addressing it / reccomendations of a specialist and costs?

The passenger door dropping is a common problem but I have no idea how to recify it!

I have recently bought a specifically tailored cover for my S from Leven (based on having a similar one for my wedge). They are very heavy, can be secured and unlikely to move (I have had paintwonr chaffed on other cars by lighter covers even with a soft inlay).

They are not cheap, but will last a long time. Also, they cover the cockpit so not a great deal of paintwork is touched.

I would suggest that you speak to Adrian Venn Adrian@ on here Exactly TVR in coventry or any other S specialist eg Dulford in Devon, Davis Geralds in Worcestershire abou the door drop

Thanks for the advice guys, certainly gives me some contacts as a starting point. Now the hard work from me I guess!! Permabags look amazing...alas I don't think my budget stretches that far
