Boot release mechanism on V8S

HELP!!!
I can't seem to get my boot open. I've tried removing number plate light but can't find much there except wiring for the light!! I don't know how to get in or what to do to fix it. I have a solenoid on order but would like to get the release catch replaced too.
So, my first issue is how to get in there. My second is where do I find the release latch mechanism?
Any wise words for a TVR rookie??

If you remove the boot mechanism you'll see the release lever is a long way from the actual pivot so the way it pulls it is poor - not easy to explain but makes sense when you see it.
Mine was troublesome to get open but greasing the mechanism has helped a lot.

Reality check - if any scum-bags want to get into the boot on a S they are not going to spend an hour or two doing the things we know you have to do. They'll just ram a big screw driver under the edge and wrench it open. But you're quite right, we don't need to make it any easier for them. Slap on the wrist accepted.

Agreed. Apologies for posting anything "sensitive". Won't happen again.
Does anyone know where I can find the actual release mechanism if I wanted to replace it? Is it used on any other know car?

It looks to me like a standard mechanism thats had some TVR home made alterations. Try tvrcarparts.com but don't hold your breath.
