Negating the fact that rebuilding one is fun.
Does one:-

A) Buy an old knacker for a few bob, spend a boat load on sorting it and cherish it?

B) Buy a minter for a boat load and cherish it?

Personally I don't think there's a lot in it.

I'm with c here but it is all about doing your 'research' and asking/checking everything you can to enable you to find the right car whichever route you take.

Cheapest option probably B if you are honest with yourself on what you've spent doing A.

The car becomes part of you if you rebuild it, I guess a lot of people don't get it but who cares?

B) & C) You’ll be able to spend your time and money out on the road driving it. You’ll still end up spending a bit on “improvements” during the winter because we all fall in to that trap.

Just depends on what you want to do for fun in your spare time and how much of it (spare time) you have. Either way a garage and somewhere dry to work on it is essential. The choice is yours sir. Good luck and have fun.

I have a garage, car just fits in but not big enough to work on it, everything (including body lift) done "alfresco".

Couldn't agree more. No matter how much you spend there will always be a few things that you personally want to do. These cars are not the usual bland boxes, they have 'character' and are almost open to minor customising (within reason and in a small way) Its all down to individual choice.

The end result is much the same, but as the man said depends on how much spare time you have and how deep your pockets are.

yes this was clarrenceboddigers project, a young lad from Kent bought it to do up
hope to see it back on the road one day
i think it will need lots of hours of hard work and money spending on it
i think when its finished he should know this car inside and out
think Ken would be happy it has been saved
