Bonnet Scoop Upgrade

Inspired by this thread I decided to upgrade at least the scoop on my bonnet.

I used Woven Wire, 10 Mesh from ebay


A bit fiddly to do but for the cost, less than £10, worth while

Hi Norman, did you cut out the existing grille, and if so how did you go about it? From memory I think mine is laid into fibreglass but might be wrong...

No you are spot on about an inch to an inch and a half extra mesh top and bottom (not very much each side) I cut the mesh first and it would have been much better to remove the old then cut and shape the mesh with a much wider overlap as you can see a trace of the fibre glass filler from the outside.

Thanks for the offer Norman but I've got a feeling it's something I could make a mess of! Think I'll cop out and give mine a good clean and a spray with some black paint.

Hi Norman, could i take it off your hands if no one has beat me to it please ?

if it works ok (sure it will) maybe look at doing the two front intakes also, if larger pieces are available.
