Hello all, Brought a wooden MOMO steering wheel and gear knob for my S1 last year and seem to be having some trouble locating the correct boss for it. Have tried the TVR "universal" one from halfords and numerous Ford ones to no avail. Any ideas? Im not adverse to paying the cash for it (The wheel alone cost best part of £300) but am sick of ordering and waiting for the wrong part!

good luck.

i spent 6 months trying to find out the answer to no avail. Ended up giving up, selling the wheel i bought and buying one that fitted straight on the car.

Halfords do have the boss, it is listed as a Ford type. If the spotty oik rings the supplier they will tell him the number. I think the supplier they need to ring is some thing like Brown & Geeson(?).

I will dig out what I've got tonight, I bought one just after Xmas with no probs.

seriously, the feckwits in halfrauds went around in circles for 3 months. I contacted an importer of motolita wheels at Thruxton and all sorts.

Nobody seemed to be able to give me a straight answer.

What do you expect if you buy a Motolita wheel, Shnozz

twas what was originally on it. I bought a Griff 500 wheel so needed the "later" style boss rather than the 9 bolt arrangement.

in the end, I had to buy a Chimaera just to fit the bloody steering wheel.

matt - which Momo wheel is it ?

I fitted one (wood leather) to mine and had to get the boss from Momo themselves.

Have a look at www.motorsportworld.co.uk - they list all Momo wheels and Hub Bosses - worth a try.
On a special I had with a Motolita wheel they actually made me a one off boss so its not impossible.

Its a MOMO fighter wood. Ive got the matching gear knob that does look rather good with the beige leatheret. The only prob with the knob is that the clamping ring loosens of when i thrash the car! Solution, drive sedate or a bit of tacticaly placed bostic! What Ford type do we think it is then? I tried sierra, escort, all the obvious ones. One came close to fitting but was let down by the steering lock.

I'm still digging, but I think the one for my wheel had the numbers 4517 in it.

Been a bit busy, what with a bin lid on the way and all, but have at last got round to tracking down the boss for my steering wheel. It fits well and draws attention away from my tatty interior! my S is now staying and is in getting a new exhaust and breaks. Next stop is to sort out the interior. Has leaked quite a bit in the past resulting in the need for new carpets, dash, seat and roof re trim. Any sudgestions? The car is black with a cream interior at mo but am considering a deep red?
