Whilst cleaning the front passenger outrigger I tried to remove the earth strap bolted to the chassis. True to form the stud snapped leaving me earth-less.

Any ideas as to how I can replace it. What do you think about putting a small exhaust clamp round the tube and bolting to that.Weldind seems not possible as location is so close to the bulkhead!

If you have the resources, I'd suggest grinding the old stud off and welding a new bolt in its place. On mine it looks as if the access is sufficient for this (the bolt would only need to be tagged on two sides, no need to seam weld all the way round! Not keen on the clamp idea as corrosion (and hence electrical problems) will be inevitable, but it would be enough to keep you going until you can sort it properly.

You could weld the earth stud on somewhere more accessible. But,if you can't get one welded on, reverse the process and drill and tap the chassis, then use a bolt to fix it.
