GAZ Front Shock Adjustment

Hi Guys
Can anyone help, not having adjustable shocks before I an not sure if mine are set right. can anyone give me info on how they should be set up. I have noticed that there is a small mark on the wish bone as if it has been hitting the battery tray slightly and on the other side the end of the bolt that holds the air filter mounting bracket.
Should the spring be a certain length, how many threads should there be showing, what setting should the small adjuster be on.

Surely the whole point of adjustables is that there is no "correct" setting ?

Its all a matter of preference, soft or firm ride, car sitting lean 'n low or jacked up a bit to clear speed bumps ?

From what you describe I'd try winding them up half inch or so and maybe up a couple of clicks on the damping but it really is a case or trial and error till you get a car that drives and handles how you like
