Roof Seal / Leaks

Morning all...
After getting fed up of the leaky cabin on the S I decided to purchase some new seals. Have just run one around the doors and screen with no problems, and also replaced the single piece that runs across the roof hoop. However before I cut the roof hoop seal to length I'm after some tips on where it should lie. The original seal on mine stopped short of the door by about 2 inches, see photo, which doesn't seem right to me. The (main!) leak on mine was from this area on both sides so I'm just trying to work out where might be best to cut/position the seal without interfering with the door/roof operation.
Any photos of this area, along with a 'leaks' or 'doesn't leak' caption would be greatly appreciated too - I'll start....

Simon where did you get the seals from? Mine is in need of some new ones and as it's off the road at the moment it would be a good time to follow your example!
Norman that looks like a good seal but do you get a gap right at the back bottom corner of the window when it is up? I have that problem at the moment but mainly because the seal is falling off and it causes an annoying whistling and rain to get in.
Also do you have any problems with the seal getting streched if you fold the rear roof down with the door closed?

I always make a point of folding the roof with both doors open to make sure the targa hoop isnt forced against the glassNorman
Thanks Norman, those pics are a big help. However I'm intrigued as to what this is, as I haven't got one on mine and that's exactly where it leaks in!...

On mine the water tracks off the roof, down the hoop seal and then when it reaches the arrowed area dives in and drips onto the seatbelts, et voila - wet shoulders.
The seal on yours looks a little different to mine, so I may have to cut the 'grip-strip' bit off mine where it overlaps the door seal, leaving just the bulb to be compressed with the door closed.
Tom - I got the seals online from Woolies trim, as recommended on a few other posts here. The part number is 266-BLK. It's the same seal for the doors/screen and the roof hoop. I ordered a 10m length to do the lot and should have a bit spare by the time I'm done, but at £2.80 a metre it doesn't break the bank to have some left over rather than come up short (the £10 postage is a bit steep though).

I'll double check tomorrow but I think its the end of the seal around the door opening
Thanks ever so much for the photos Norman, been a busy weekend but I've got the seals cut to length now. The leak hasn't stopped completely although it has improved - bit of a dark art this water tightness lark. Looking at your last picture it seems your roof has an extra flappy bit above the end of the door seal that mine doesn't have. I think I'm going to scotch guard some small pieces of canvas/material and stick them to the inside of the roof in this area, to act as a little rain deflector type thing to channel the water OUTSIDE the S!
I'll report back with pics when I get them fitted.
P.S. took her out for a couple of hours this afternoon when the rain had stopped, first proper drive since the engine rebuild - I remebered all over again why I bought this cracking little car
