S Convertable on A14 and A1, Friday 14/01/11

Its mine, I live just short of Thrapston. I am a PH virgin (just registered today) – I was one of those who never bothered to register before, but occasionally browsed.

Thanks for comment on the car. The S3 is feeling sorry for itself at moment. Just had an outrigger welded by Offord Motors, they did an excellent job. But they found play in my steering rack, so this weekend I have stripped the front end of the car, rack off, wishbones and shocks off, arb off, just now waiting for the rack to be reconditioned and to buy some poly bushes.

I did the Nurburgring last year in the wet, scared the hell out of myself

Hi David,

Glad you spotted this thread, and welcome to PH. I've not been a member long either but it's been a valuable source of help and advice since I entered the relm of TVR ownership.

I work in Oundle, but live just off the A1 in Beds so I do the A14/A1 route everyday, it was nice to have the otherwise boring journey brightened up by being able to fly in formation for a while.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for the Nurburgring myself just yet, but I will tackle it one day, in something!

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for you. If you see a nutter waving from a black Ford Focus, a silver Audi A3, or a Grey Cerbera please don't call the police!

I'm "just over the border" in Rutland so not too far away from you

I used to take my TVRs to Offord but now use http://www.guglielmimotorsport.co.uk/ It might be a bit further for you but it will be worth it. The guys there have a fantastic knowledge of the S Series, I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else

And I have also done the Ring - once dry once damp and once wet

Thanks Kevin for adding me to the owners list. Yes I hope to be at SCH2011 and Chatsworth.

While I have had the car since 2002, I used it more last year than ever before. I did 2 UK TVR track days – Cadwell park and Oulton Park. Both were excellent, well organized and friendly, well done TVRCC. On both occasions I was the only S on track - why? Perhaps we should start a new thread on this – lets get some S series on the track. For those worried about being shown up by Chims etc, well no we held our own and we were consistently faster in the corners.

Attached are some pictures as promised of last year and now. (I posted a photo on another thread about wishbone bushes of the chassis with wishbones off and before paining, today I painted it and next week will reassemble the suspension (I hope).

Can't believe you've had an S since 2002 and I've never seen you I got mine in 2001 and had it for 8yrs . Last year Barclyboy stopped at Kettering and we went to S club together , it would be nice to go up as a group this year if there was a few going on the same day .

we met up at riverside Northampton for a few years to travel to s club , i can think of about six S owners around Northampton that regularly go to events so it would be nice to get a group together .
I don't have an S anymore but last year sneaked in at the back , i don't think anybody noticed .
Not sure what days i will attend this year lets see near the time .
Today is TVRCC meet at sywell , there is a couple of s owners go there if you fancy going along one month let me know , i might go along today but weather not that great .
