How long to change oil filter ?

I'm no photograther (and not much of a mechanic some might say) but can you make anything out from these, apart from my hand ?K
Bought the bits off Ebay, advertised as "remote filter kit for Ford Zetec". Seems nearly all Fords use same filter thread so although the short fat 2.9 filter would fit I went for a longer one. the take off on the engine is similar to the sandwich plate you would use to fit an oil cooler but instead of being held on by the filter there is an alluminiun screw on cap thing. Cobbled up some brackets (plenty of room now batery in boot)and made up suitable hoses. the heater hose that runs along the edge of the sump had to be modified a little.
Maybe no real benefits apart from saving a few minutes twice a year when I change oil and filter but tinkering with things like this keeps me amused .......

How did you know its my Birthday tomorrow ? Tis honestly, but seriously a stat is on the "to do" list once I'm happy all else is well, as DJ8226 has mentioned, oil pressure stays good, nothing leaks and nothing goes bang !
If the oil is being over-cooled the oil pressure will probably look excellent because the oil will be cold and thick and hard to pump - but it won't necessarily end up getting to the parts of the engine that need it. This is why we don't thrash cold engines until the oil temperatures have come up to the normal operating range. I know it's something you plan to sort, but I'd urge you to do it sooner rather than later.

Must admit, this is my concern as well - you could end up doing more harm than good. Don't want to be a party pooper but I don't think this is on my shopping list.(I have my own list of projects which have probably done more harm than good, either to the car, or to my physical health, so I am not criticising!)
