in this weather, My fan comes on after about five or ten minutes of town driving. Seems a bit quick. Dodgy thermostat? only had the car through winter, so it might be perfectly normal to be up to a high temp that quickly.
mine comes in @ around 90ish, but found it hard to keep a constant temp, but since i did a coolant change and vaselined the front dodgy connection, shes now costant and the fans hardly ever need to cut in
Sounds normal to me... It unlikely to be a thermostat fault either.. if its stuck closed the fan wouldn't cool the engine at all anyway so you'd just overheat.
