Handbrake Help

Having removed the body last weekend I'm getting the final bits stripped off the chassis before it goes off for repair next week.

I've given up on the trailing arm bolts - they will see the hacksaw tomorrow! In the mean time I'm taking the brake pipe and Handbrake bits off, however I'm having trouble with the offside handbrake cable where it attaches to the chassis. It looks like it should just pull through, but it is too wide. So rather than attack it I thought I'd ask for some advice.

It's probably really simple, but not until you know how!

If I remember correctly the cable goes through a slot with the edge above and below bent backwards. I strightened the bent bit and the cable slipped out, these pictures might help

Great thanks Norman, just popped outside, bent the bracket and hey-presto with a little bit of help out it comes!
