Front wishbone bushes

Last weekend I stripped the front suspension of my S3 (I had advisories on the last MoT and the next one is due)

It’s now in bits and I require: Steering rack mounting bushes (rack is being refurbished), ARB bushes, lower and upper wishbone bushes and Koni shock bushes.

I had intended to get Powerflex Bushes but Steve Heath tells me they are not developed yet. Superflex will not answer their phone (are they still in business?) So what bushes should I go for? and where do I get them?

I see that there are different size ARB’s - 24mm and 26mm. My vernier consistently reads 25.5 across the ARB, do I go for the 26mm bush?

I promise to take some photos over the weekend of a rather sorry looking S3 (at least I can attack the surface rust at the front of the chassis.

Google "Superflex" plenty of other suppliers, got mine cheaper from a third party than direct from Superflex, but can't remember who it was off hand.

Yes I got mine from TVRCarparts for the same price as Superflex direct.

You mention Koni suspension bushes. Neil will remember that I had an issue with the size of the Superflex bushes for these the crush tube was the correct length but the flanges were so thick that the bush did not meet in the centre of the shocker eye and the whole thing was then too wide to fit between the chassis brackets. After some discussions and emailed photos of the problem they re-supplied a different size - same size as the wishbone bushes (upper IIRC ?) The Wishbone bushes were perfect fit and Neil/Superflex supplied the replacements FOC and no hassle - thanks again.

Great help, thanks. I contacted Neil (he remembered you) and its all sorted. Neil was incredibly helpful and I will get all the bushes next week. He thinks my ARB is 26mm (most S1 are 24mm) just digital vernier calipers are too accurate!

Its unfortunate I bypassed TVRcarparts first time, as the web site was playing up (can not scroll down), Neil is aware of that and will fix it.

Attached are pictures of a very sorry looking S3. 2 weeks time it will be on the road again!

Aha, I've had that problem. Glad it's going to be fixed although not sure my bank balance is!
